Steele Memorial Hosts Two Town Hall Meetings
April 25, 2022
Steele Memorial Medical Center, through their Huron leader, Tad Hunt hosted two Town Hall meetings last week, the first of more to come. The purpose of the meetings was to highlight next steps and progress towards the 2022 SMMC strategic plan. Of the five SMMC Pillars of Excellence, the executive team, providers, directors, and board worked through an entire day with Mr. Hunt defining the beginnings and overarching priorities for the strategic plan. Time during that work session only allowed for the People, Growth and Community pillars to be discussed. Mr. Hunt highlighted the top priorities of each of the three pillars during last Tuesday’s Town Hall Meetings, and sought feedback and answered questions from the attendees. Nancy Osmundson assured those in attendance that upon approval of a final strategic plan, that plan would be available on the SMMC website.
SMMC will now engage all departments, under the direction of department leaders and admin, to define departmental objectives, goals and action plans to successfully achieve the strategic priorities. Each department will have claims data and data provided by SMMC’s recent employee engagement survey to create measurable outcomes that can be tracked and evaluated for progress.
Although time did not allow for the Service and Finance pillars to be discussed in the earlier all day workshop, they will be addressed and incorporated in to the strategic plan process and rolled down from the Board through executives, leadership and with staff to make their departmental goals and actions plans. SMMC is excited to complete this process and further define its commitment to our success in serving this community for many years to come.
