Steele Memorial Receives Local COVID-19 Donation
April 14, 2020
Steele Memorial Hospital and the Steele Foundation would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Valerie Brackett and Nikolaos Monoyios Charitable Fund of the Vanguard Charitable Endowment Program, as the entity making a recent donation to the Foundation on behalf of Valerie Brackett and Nikolaos Monoyios in the amount of $15,000. They made this generous gift to support us in our fight against Covid19, and ensure we are best prepared to care for our community. Their donation will purchase three sanitation devices, the Clorox 360 System, to help us keep the health system healthier and in a shorter amount of time.
This machine utilizes an electrostatic sprayer with the Clorox 360 solution to reduce pathogens and essentially overcome human error in sanitation. It kills 99.9% of bacteria in 5 seconds has been proven to kill 44 other organisms: cold and flu viruses, MRSA and other viruses in less than 2 minutes and is 100% proven to kill the corona virus. It is effective on all hard, soft and porous surfaces. Our Environmental Services Department does an exceptional job, and maintains infection control levels that are lower than many larger health systems. Now, they have powerful tools to further ensure the utmost health and safety of our patients. The great generosity of Valerie and Nikos strengthens us in our fight against Covid19 and prepares us for other challenges well into the future.
The Foundation and SMMC love our donors! Their gifts allow us to improve healthcare, for this community, in ways that we could not, but for their gifts. If you would like to support SMMC or have questions about opportunities, please contact the Steele Memorial Foundation at (208) 756-5611. Nancy Osmundson, our Development Director, will be happy to discuss current priorities and answer any questions you may have.
On behalf of Steele Memorial Medical Center and the Steele Memorial Foundation we say a huge Thank You to Valerie Brackett and Nikos Monoyios!
