SMMC Referral Program Procedures
Steele Memorial Medical Center is always looking for good people to hire, and you are our top recruiters and can help! Research has shown, and our own experience supports, that new hires who come into a company through employee referrals are excellent contributors, stay with the company longer and are often more engaged in their work.
That's where you come in! If you know someone who would be a good addition to Steele Memorial Medical Center, you may be awarded a referral bonus of $2,000 (less taxes) if you refer a candidate and he or she is hired. $1,000 will be paid after the day of hire of the individual, and another $1,000 will be paid after the new employee completes 1 year of full-time employment.
Employees must refer candidates to Human Resources through the employee referral program link on Steele Memorial Medical Center’s website
All referrals must be turned in BEFORE the candidate applies. The applying candidate must list the name of the person that referred them on their application.
To qualify for the bonus:
- All referrals must be turned in BEFORE the candidate applies.
- The applying candidate MUST LIST the name of the person that referred them on their application as well.
- The referral must be hired to receive the 1st $1,000 and remain 1 year to receive the 2nd $1,000, totaling $2,000(less taxes) for referring an employee to SMMC.
Program Rules-Please read carefully.
- All Steele Memorial Medical Center employees, except those on the Executive Team, Human Resources Personnel, and managers with hiring authority over the referred candidates, are eligible for the referral bonus.
- The referral date cannot be earlier than the date the job opening is posted. The hiring of a referred employee must occur within 180 days (six months) of the initial referral date.
- The referral must represent the candidate's first contact with Steele Memorial Medical Center. Temporary, summer, contract and former employees of Steele Memorial Medical Center are not eligible candidates for referral awards.
- The first employee to refer a candidate will be the only referring employee eligible for payment.-Only 1 referrer may qualify
- Only candidates who meet the essential qualifications for the position will be considered.
- All candidates will be evaluated for employment consistent with company policies and procedures.
- All information regarding the hiring decision will remain strictly confidential. Ex. You will not be given information on the referred’s status.
- Any disputes or interpretations of this employee referral program will be handled through Human Resources.
- All referral bonus payments will be paid within 30 days after the referred employee's first day of employment at Steele Memorial Medical Center.
