Cash Gifts
Whether by cash, check, credit card, or debit card, cash donations are the most common form of giving and provide immediate tax benefits. If you itemize, your outright cash gifts are fully deductible for federal income tax purposes up to 50% of your adjusted gross income (AGI). If your gifts exceed this limit, the unused amount may be carried forward for up to five additional years.
Appreciated Property
Gifts of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or real estate may offer substantial tax advantages. These gifts qualify for a charitable income tax deduction, help you avoid capital gains tax, and can reduce potential estate taxes.
Bequests by Will
A bequest is a simple and impactful way to make a legacy gift. You may designate a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate to the Steele Memorial Foundation. These gifts may qualify for a charitable estate tax deduction. Please consult your estate planning attorney or financial advisor to learn more.
