Steele Memorial Medical Center Donates $2,500 to EICAP Lemhi & Custer County Cancer Fund

Salmon, Idaho — Steele Memorial Medical Center (SMMC) recently donated $2,500 to the Lemhi & Custer County Cancer Fund administered by Eastern Idaho Community Action Partnership (EICAP), continuing its commitment to supporting local residents impacted by cancer.

The donation was made following funds raised during Steele Memorial Medical Center’s annual Brake for Breakfast breast cancer awareness event. Thanks to the generosity of community members who participated and donated, combined with SMMC’s commitment to increasing the impact of those dollars, the total contribution reached $2,500.

Funds donated to the Lemhi & Custer County Cancer Fund help provide financial assistance to local individuals and families facing cancer-related expenses, including travel, lodging, medications, and other essential needs during treatment.

“Cancer affects so many families in our community, and we are proud to support a local fund that ensures donated dollars stay right here in Lemhi and Custer counties,” said Jenny Tracy, Marketing & Communications Director at Steele Memorial Medical Center. “This donation reflects the generosity of our community and our shared commitment to caring for our neighbors when they need it most.”

A check presentation was recently held with representatives from both organizations. Pictured at the presentation are Rebecca Larsen, EICAP; Jenny Tracy and Linda Taylor of Steele Memorial Medical Center.

Steele Memorial Medical Center extends sincere thanks to everyone who participated in Brake for Breakfast and contributed to this important cause. Together, these efforts help ease the burden for local cancer patients and reinforce the strength of community support in Lemhi and Custer counties.
